People can safely dispose of unneeded medications on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus as part of a national initiative to reduce prescription drug abuse.

UALR will participate in the  Arkansas Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the main UALR Police Department office in University Plaza, Suite 700.

During those hours, qualified staff members will pick up unwanted medications from participants’ vehicles. This year, the Arkansas Probation and Parole Board also will send two officers for the observance on campus.

UALR also offers a prescription drug drop box that remains open throughout the year inside the Police Department.
