Tramisha Harris

A University of Arkansas at Little Rock law student was elected to a national position with an organization dedicated to effecting change in the legal community.

Tramisha Harris will serve as secretary of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) for 2016-17.

NBLSA is one of the largest student-run organizations of its kind in the United States, comprised of thousands of law students and more than 200 chapters and affiliates in six countries.

Harris, a second-year law student at the William H. Bowen School of Law, was elected during the organization’s 48th annual convention.

She hopes to continue NBLSA’s tradition by improving the lives of other law students and helping the community. This year, Harris plans to support the vision of reshaping the association’s brand and focusing initiatives on social impact and racial justice.

“I am forever grateful for such a prestigious opportunity,” Harris said. “It is important to me that students use the legal skills they have to help the community and the next generation.”
