Beginning Aug. 9, patrons of the Ottenheimer Library may skirt traffic at the circulation desk when checking out. The library is installing a 3M automated checkout machine to speed check-out at the desk.

The machine will prompt library patrons to scan their UALR ID card, then scan the barcodes of the library materials they wish to check out. The self-check machine will record circulation, desensitize the material’s security strip, and print out a check-out slip.
