A panel discussion on Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070, the state’s controversial new strict immigration law, and other states attempts to copy it is the final event in UALR’s Hispanic Heritage Month 2010 activities.

The noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, event in the Donaghey Student Center’s Ledbetter Hall Room C will include panelists Jose Gomez, director of the League of Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Dean John DiPippa of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, and a representative of an Arkansas anti-immigration organization.

Dr. Terry Trevino-Richard,  professor of sociology, will moderate. The event is being co-sponsored by the Arkansas Coalition for Peace and Justice.
