Counselors to Award Scholarships after Event
At UALR’s annual Counselors’ Luncheon, 36 local school counselors each received a $2,000 scholarship to award at their own discretion.
Many counselors came to UALR’s event from Little Rock. However, some came from the four corners of the Natural State; one traveled from Camden-Fairview High School, two hours away.
In addition to the luncheon, counselors had the opportunity to listen to a panel where students described their first years of college and answered questions about what was most helpful to them as they were starting college.
This was the second year UALR’s Office of Recruitment and Retention gave each counselor a scholarship to award to a student of their choice. During the luncheon, these professionals received admission and retention reports on the students who were awarded the counselors’ awards last year as well as seniors were have been accepted to UALR for the fall semester.
