History Grad Lectures on Chickasaw Trail of Tears

Amanda Paige, Trail of Tears expert and recent graduate of the UALR Public History program, will present a talk titled “Pulaski County and the Chickasaw Trail of Tears” at the Historic Arkansas Museum at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17.

The program is sponsored by the Pulaski County Historical Society and is free and open to the public. Refreshments are available at 2 p.m.

Paige will tell compelling stories about how all nations of the five civilized tribes stopped or crossed the Arkansas River in Pulaski County during the removal period. One of the most compelling stories of removal is that of the Chickasaw Nation, which traveled through the Little Rock area including the site of the present-day UALR.
