UALR Will Honor Top Faculty April 12

UALR will honor its top faculty at the 2012 Faculty Excellence Awards Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building.

The annual event celebrates the excellence of faculty in three categories – teaching, research, and public service. Each UALR college has nominated a faculty member, and an independent selection committee will choose three university-wide winners.

Following the presentation of college-level awards and university winners in the three categories, guests will celebrate the selections at a reception in the Bailey Alumni and Friends Center.

The winner of the Bailey Teaching Award will receive $10,000 from the Bailey Foundation. Winners of the Faculty Excellence in Research and in Public Service will receive $5,000 awards.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Marita McNair at 501-569-3204.
