Mass Comm Professor Wins Research Award

Dr. Bruce Plopper, a professor of journalism in UALR’s School of Mass Communications, won the Laurence Campbell Research Award, a top faculty paper award from Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, for the fourth time in his career.

Plopper will present the paper, “Scholastic Journalism Teacher Use of Digital Devices and Social Networking Tools,” on Aug. 8 at AEJMC’s 100th anniversary convention in Chicago. The association is the world’s largest organization for journalism and mass communication educators.

Plopper also won the award in 1997, 2007, and 2009.
