Campus Life Kicks Off ‘Major Mondays’ Sept. 14

“Major Mondays,” one of three series in the Campus Life Checkpoints Program, kicks off at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, in Donaghey Student Center Room E. The event offers students and faculty a chance to discuss careers related to particular majors in an informal setting.

Dr. Thea Hoeft, division chief for University College, will initiate this year’s “Major Monday” sessions with a discussion on choosing a college major.

This year marks the second for the Campus Life Checkpoints series, which also includes “Finding Your Way,” events to enhance students’ social development and academic success, and “Money Matters,” sessions geared toward helping students manage their financial resources.

Dr. Jan Austin, director of the Office of Campus Life, said the series extends orientation programs throughout the academic year with offerings appropriate for new students as well as those returning to college.

“Major Monday” continues at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in DSC Room E with Dr. Bruce Smith, associate dean for the College of Education.
