Staff honored for service to university
The university honored its employees at the annual UALR Staff Senate Awards ceremony Wed., April 17.
Three were surprised with achievement awards. Each recipient was secretly nominated by one of their peers and presented with certificates and $1,000 during the ceremony.
Tony Rose of the Sequoyah Research Center won the award for personal growth; Jennifer Godwin of the Office of Communications won the service to community award, and Marie Sandusky of Health Services received the service to UALR award.
In addition to the achievement awards, the university honored retirees, employees who recently earned an undergraduate or graduate degree, and those who have served the university for five years or more.
Numerous staff members were rewarded for their years of service, four have worked for UALR for at least 35 years: Linda Burnett of MidSOUTH, Karen Roberson of the Office of the Provost, Michael Seamon of Facilities Management-Engineering, and Cheryl Snuffer of Financial Services.
The annual event is sponsored by the Office of the Chancellor and the vice chancellors of the university.
