Dr. Dave McAlpine, professor of Spanish and Foreign Language Education, returns to campus this week following his keynote address to the Federación Internacional de Profesores de Español meeting in Spain.

The third annual conference of professors of Spanish was last week in Cádiz, the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the Iberian Peninsula and possibly of all southwestern Europe.

McAlpine is coordinator of graduate studies in the International and Second Language Studies Department. In addition to advising students in the Master of Arts in Second Languages program and directing master’s theses, he teaches the methods of teaching second languages course and the research methods course and supervises students during their student teaching semester. He was recently appointed as one of three inaugural directors of the UALR Teaching Academy.
