Free Turkish Lessons Offered
Free lessons in Turkish are offered at UALR for anyone wishing to learn the fifth largest language spoken today by 200 million people.
The lessons are from 3 to 4:30 p.m. every Thursday in Stabler Hall Room 408 by the Turkic Cultural Student Association in collaboration with Raindrop Turkish House. The lessons, from elementary to advanced levels, are open to the public.
Turkish courses aim to develop listening, speaking, reading, writing skills and introduce Turkish culture. Students are encouraged to focus on conversational Turkish with an emphasis on active participation using CDs, DVDs, and conversation partners. All students will have the opportunity to get a free Turkish Olympiad ticket, the Turkic Fest in Houston, and attend cultural activities at Raindrop Turkish House at Little Rock.
