Students interested in learning a second language may take a free Arabic class this semester. The class runs from 6 to 8:40 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 17, in Stabler Hall, Room 304. The non-credit class is open to the public.
Nick Steele worked as coordinator of the Chancellor’s Leadership Corps (CLC) for almost five years. On Feb. 1, he took a new position as a concurrent enrollment specialist in UALR’s High School Concurrent Enrollment Program to assist efforts to expand the program’s outreach.
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will offer free screenings for eating disorders from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 24-25 in the Donaghey Student Center and the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Business and Economic Development.

A new food pantry is set to help those in need at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, thanks to the work of the campus community and university organizations.
On Tuesday, Feb. 2, a large crowd of media, students, faculty, staff, and community leaders gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, kicking off the pantry’s inaugural week.
With the help of the campus community and university organizations, the new University of Arkansas at Little Rock Trojan Food Pantry will open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday beginning Feb. 4.
“It’s been a group effort on campus,” said Betsy Hart, assistant director of the UALR Community Connection Center. “Folks all over campus have been coming up to us, saying this has been a need for a long time.”
Entering its second semester, a research colloquium series continues to feature monthly talks led by University of Arkansas at Little Rock faculty with a diverse range of expertise.
