A group of UALR alumni from the 1990s gathered in the Washington home of former Donaghey Scholar Jeff Dutton recently to celebrate the endowment of the Stonewall Scholarship.
Richard B. Dixon, a legendary professor who joined Little Rock Junior College in 1953, died Monday, Oct. 29. He was 86.
UALR is throwing a birthday party for Trojan women sports pioneer and 2010 Alumni Association Presidents Award winner Betty Jo Stephens at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. The party will be held before home game between the Trojans, the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Champion, and the Missouri State Lady Bears at Jack Stephens Center.

The fourth annual SpectacUALR established a new record for giving by generating more than $200,000 in support of Trojan student-athletes. The fundraiser was the university’s largest recurring fundraiser.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, for Carolyn Larson Harman, the 85-year-old daughter of John A. Larson, the founder and first president of Little Rock Junior College, UALR’s predecessor institution.
The Bernard Osher Foundation of San Francisco has designated UALR as the only institution in Arkansas to administer the group’s Re-Entry Scholars Program, providing scholarships for former students to complete their degrees.
UALR will honor Eileen and Dr. Ricardo Sotomora at the seventh annual Finale gala at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building. Each year, the gala marks the end-of-the-arts season to celebrate the arts in central Arkansas and is the premiere fundraising event for the university’s fine arts program.
Come by the Office of Development from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, for a hot dog lunch from Hot Dog Mike. He is donating a portion of the day’s sales to the Campus Campaign and the Fund for UALR.
