Little Rock attorney Phil Kaplan and adman Leslie Singer will team up with KUAR FM 89.1 to present the 12th annual “Jewish Guys Chanukah Special” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Clinton Presidential Center. The show will be recorded before a live audience and broadcast on FM 89.1 on Monday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. and on Christmas Day at 1 p.m.
UALR Public Radio and the Hot Springs Music Festival will host international jazz artist Amir Gwirtzman of Tel Aviv, Israel, for a 7 p.m. Feb. 19, performance at Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in UALR’s Fine Arts Building.
When a three-day on-air funding drive fell $6,275 short of a goal needed to expand central Arkansas’s public radio signal, KUAR General Manager Ben Fry feared the station would miss the chance to improve the signal, reduce operating costs, and save the eventual expense of new tower construction.

UALR Public Radio KUAR/KLRE presents “An Evening with Diane Rehm,” Thursday, Sept. 3, for a reception and dinner with the veteran broadcaster whose daily national radio program, the “Diane Rehm Show,” airs on KUAR FM 89 weekday at 9 a.m.
Fans of Public Radio’s Ira Glass and his program “This American Life” can watch him perform live onstage via high definition satellite at a screening at Breckenridge Village Cinema Thursday, April 23, sponsored by KUAR-FM 89. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are $20 and are available online at Fandango.
