Rieva Lesonsky
A noted authority on small business and entrepreneurship will share her insights with an Arkansas audience this month through two live webinars with the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC).

Rieva Lesonsky, CEO of GrowBiz Media and SmallBizDaily.com, will join ASBTDC for webinars on Jan. 14 and Jan. 28:

  • 2 p.m., Jan. 14 – “The Hottest Businesses, Markets and Trends for the New Year”
  • 2 p.m., Jan. 28 – “Are You a Helicopter Boss? Learning to Let Go and Other Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic”
In both webinars, Lesonsky will discuss ways small businesses can take advantage of today’s changing marketplace, according to the center’s Whitney Horton.

Lesonsky was named one of the nation’s top 100 Small Business Influencers by Small Business Trends. She writes about small business and entrepreneurship for print and digital outlets and has a podcast devoted to small business issues.

Prior to starting her company, she was the editorial director of Entrepreneur magazine.

Lesonsky has appeared on Today, Good Morning America, and Oprah. She is also a long-time supporter of the national Small Business Development Center network, of which ASBTDC is a member.

“Rieva’s unique viewpoint and engaging presentation style is exactly what our Arkansas small business owners need to kick off 2021. Her trends presentation is always standing-room-only at the SBDC national conference,” said Horton.

The “Hottest Businesses, Markets and Trends” session will highlight business ideas and industries that are connecting with consumers. Lesonsky will also talk about changing demographics, attitudes and consumer behaviors, as well as ways small businesses can best adapt to and address them.

The “Helicopter Boss” webinar will look at how small business owners can manage virtual operations and maintain productivity, security and employee engagement without hovering over their teams.

The webinars are offered at no cost. Pre-registration is required.
