Michelle Cann to Open for Chamber Music Society of Little Rock
The Chamber Music Society of Little Rock has announced Michelle Cann as its season opener.
She will perform Thursday, Sept. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the UA Little Rock Fine Arts Building.
Cann is the recipient of the 2022 Sphinx Medal of Excellence, which recognizes Black and Latinx classical musicians who demonstrate artistic excellence, determination, good work ethic, and a commitment to leadership in their communities.
Since her orchestral debut at 14, she has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. While in Little Rock, Cann will be working with local students as part of the Chamber Music Society’s education outreach program.
Students of all ages will receive free admission, and general admission is $25. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door with cash or card.
