Native American Heritage Month: William Tincup’s Squaw Play Reading

November 8 at 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The play is a story of the Cherokee Removal of 1839. This first Cherokee “Trail of Tears” was a 950 mile-long forced relocation from Georgia through Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas to the new Cherokee Nation located in present-day Oklahoma. We hope that this event will be an opportunity to participate in telling this moving story of the relocation, to commemorate those who underwent the Trail of Tears, and to celebrate the strength and perseverance of their descendants.

This second reading will begin at 5:00 PM at UA Little Rock Downtown, 333 President Clinton Avenue, Little Rock.
