“If they don’t see the universe, they won’t wonder about it. What’s the use of somebody who doesn’t wonder? If they don’t wonder, they’re dead.”- John Dobson, amateur astronomer
The Night Sky is a monthly program produced and hosted by Darrell Heath of the UA Little Rock College of Arts, Letters and Sciences. In each episode, Darrell explains the science, history and sometimes the mythology of our amazing universe.
Darrell Heath has been fascinated with the natural world since he was a child and he has spent much of his life devoted to its study. From dinosaurs to bats to snakes to stars he has a passion for learning more about the nature of the universe and for sharing that passion and knowledge with others.
He has served as a past president of the Arkansas Herpetological Society and the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society. Darrell is also a volunteer with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Solar System Ambassador program, dedicated to conveying to the public information about NASA’s ongoing missions to explore the solar system.
