Dr. Bailey M. Oliver, assistant professor in the Department of Applied Communication at UA Little Rock and family communication researcher, will be presenting on “From Bonus Moms to Half Siblings: Best Practices to Promote Positive and Resilient Stepfamily Relationships” at this Leadership Lecture. This Leadership Lecture will focus on how stepfamilies can create more positive, resilient relationships in the wake of the challenges that are presented to restructured families. This talk will focus on the practices that best promote successful stepfamily relationships, including tips for new stepparents, biological parents, step siblings, and half siblings alike. This talk will also focus on how stepfamilies can work collectively as a whole system to improve familial relationships.
