The College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education invites proposals for the 2024 Summer Research and Creative Activities Fellowships.
Up to $4,000 will be awarded to CHASSE faculty members to support their research in Summer 2024.
CHASSE faculty who will be employed full time in Fall 2024 are eligible to apply. Funding recommendations will be made by the CHASSE Research, Creative Works, and Awards Committee.
Award funds will be dispersed in direct payments to selected faculty members. Successful applicants will provide the Dean’s office with a final report and give a public presentation about the project during the Fall 2024 semester. Last year’s public presentation consisted of a college-wide Lunch and Learn with a Q&A that had over 30 attendees.

Proposal Evaluation
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- The importance of undertaking the project to address the problem or phenomenon of interest
- The feasibility of the project objectives given the proposed time frame and award amount
- The long-term prospects of the project. This includes but is not limited to future funding and scholarly products (e.g., published papers, books, or public exhibits/performances)
- The contribution of the project to the applicant’s scholarly/artistic career and its value to the college’s mission
- The justification for how the funds will support the faculty member’s research
Preference will be given to faculty who have not received this award in the last three years.
