SMALL TALK: PUBLIC RELATIONS

February 25, 2020 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Let’s face it – many small business owners don’t fully understand how public relations can help their companies. And when they think of public relations, they think of companies with a budget large enough to hire a full-time PR professional, not a small business where one person is wearing multiple hats. However, what most small business owners don’t know is that PR is 90% more effective at influencing consumers than advertising, according to a Nielsen study. And in some cases, public relations is more cost-effective than many advertising efforts.

During this discussion, Jackie Thornton, PR expert, will help small business owners understand the difference between PR and marketing, the importance of implementing a public relations policy, the importance of a brand and corporate identity guide, identifying your target publics, and tips on creating content for your website, news releases, company fact sheets, and bios.
