Expert in Entrepreneurship
Joseph Bell has worked hard in the business and academic communities while at UA Little Rock. He has a great willingness to take his knowledge out of the classroom. Conversely, the knowledge he gains through his service efforts creates an ongoing practical and vibrant classroom learning environment for his students. His endeavors have dramatically strengthened community awareness of the UA Little Rock entrepreneurship program while creating opportunities for students.
As associate professor in the Department of Management/Entrepreneurship, Bell has been the advisor for the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup business plan competition for the past five years. He also provides counseling and training to a number of community-based nonprofit organizations and is always available to give informal advice to any new venture or small business that desires his assistance.
Bell has been instrumental in building the Management Department Advisory Board, and he has held leadership positions in several external organizations, such as the Small Business Institute® and the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He is currently serving on five editorial review boards of various journals and has volunteered multiple times as a conference track organizer, reviewer, and case competition judge.
He received a J.D. degree from T.M. Cooley School of Law, an MBA from Michigan State University, and B.A. degree from Bloomsburg University.
