Chancellor Christina Drale announced Thursday afternoon that all face-to-face classes will move online immediately “until further notice.”
This announcement comes hours after a second case of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Arkansas was announced from an employee at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
There is no clear announcement when face-to-face classes will resume, but UA-Fayetteville announced that they will be online for the rest of the semester, while other schools, such as the Little Rock Public School District, are only doing it until the end of March.
Drale also announced that all on-campus events are canceled through April 30 unless special permission is granted from the vice chancellor. Out-of-state travel is also suspended and visits from guests out-of-state are not allowed until April 30 as well.
Drale did state that campus offices, residence halls and dining services will remain open until otherwise stated.
“Please stay safe and we’ll continue to keep you updated on how this rapidly evolving situation may impact our campus moving forward,” Drale said.
