OPT Start Date

You may choose the OPT start date any time during your 60 day grace period. 90 days of authorized unemployment begins on OPT start date. You may not begin employment before OPT start date or change your date once you apply for OPT.

I understand that starting from April 1, 2024, the cost of the OPT application will be $520 for paper submissions and $470 for online submissions. Furthermore, it is understood that this application fee is to be paid to the US Department of Homeland Security and is non-refundable.
