Non-Credit Class in Beginning Arabic Starts Sept. 21

UALR’s non-credit course in Arabic will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The weekly classes – which will continue until Wednesday, Dec. 7 – will be held in room  206 in Stabler Hall and are open to the public.
Registration, which can be done online, is $100 for the semester plus the cost of the textbook. The fee can be paid by check or cash on the first day of class.

Dr. Krista Lewis, assistant professor of anthropology and Middle Eastern Studies, said the classes are non-credit courses that teach the basis of the Arabic language both written and spoken, including the Arabic script.

“Everyone ages 15 and up is welcome to enroll if they have a serious interest in learning this important world language,” Lewis said. “You do not need to be a UALR student or enroll in UALR in order to take the class.”

Space is limited. For more information and registration forms, visit Middle Eastern Studies or contact Lewis at 501-569-8322 or kxlewis@ualr.edu.
