‘Hansel and Gretel’ Offers Halloween Treat Oct. 28-30
UALR Opera Theatre will present Englebert Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel” from Friday, Oct. 28, to Sunday, Oct. 30, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building.
“Our fall production of Hansel and Gretel is based on the Grimm’s fairy tale and is the adventure of two precocious children who find themselves lost in the forest,” said Diane Kesling, assistant professor of music.
“Hansel and Gretel’s adventure finds them encountering many magical creatures, including a charming, yet menacing witch who has designs on baking them into gingerbread children.”
Performances will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. Tickets are $15 general admission and $5 for students and children. UALR faculty, staff, and students are free.
