Angel named future senior director of development
One of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s most productive fundraisers is joining the UALR Office of Alumni and Development.
Andrea Angel, a 2003 UALR graduate, will assume the position of senior director of development on Sept. 16.
Angel began her career in 2005 as the director of sales for Trojan athletics. She added the title of senior women’s administrator and was promoted to director of athletics development. In 2008, she managed the NCAA men’s basketball tournament’s first- and second-round games at Verizon Arena.
During her eight-year stint in the athletics department, she increased season ticket sales and donations and was a member of the Trojan Athletic Foundation Board.
She joined the UALR College of Business as the director of development in 2013 and helped build the Stephen Harrow Smith Dean’s Endowment fund to more than $2 million. During the final year of a $500,000 Donaghey match, she brought in nearly $285,000 through grassroots fundraising.
Angel was the university’s No. 1 college-based fundraiser this past fiscal year, and during her time at the UALR College of Business, she enhanced the Distinguished Alumni Luncheon and created a college golf benefit.
“Andrea will be a fabulous addition to the central staff,” said Bob Denman, UALR vice chancellor for advancement.
