Celebrate launch of Trojan Experience with free concert and lunch
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will celebrate the launch of Trojan Experience, a student success plan that embodies Trojan Touchstones, with an interactive concert featuring Grammy-Award winning jazz bass player Victor Wooten.
The concert is free and open to the public, and will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, on Campus Drive West in front of UALR’s Fine Arts Building.
The concert will also feature Rod Taylor, a bass player and veteran educator; Lari White, a Grammy Award-winning recording artist, songwriter, producer, indie record label owner, and actress; JD Blair, an award-winning drummer; and Beau Tackett, lead guitarist for country superstar Blake Shelton.
Food trucks will be on site at the concert. The first 500 people will receive a free meal.
In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Donaghey Student Center Fieldhouse.
Trojan Touchstones was launched in December 2014. As part of the initiative, the campus community identified five core values that best embody UALR: innovation, knowledge, accessibility, respect, and engagement.
Trojan Touchstones is the foundation for the “Student Success Plan: The Trojan Experience,” an initiative that focuses on improving the student experience at UALR.
The Trojan Experience provides the opportunity for students to design an individualized plan to reach their goals with faculty and staff providing direction, support, and student resources.
