UALR faculty member honored at the Capitol

State leaders recently honored a University of Arkansas at Little Rock associate professor for his work with deaf and hard of hearing residents.

During a ceremony at the state Capitol, lawmakers recognized Dr. Glenn Anderson, UALR associate professor of interpreter education, with a citation expressing gratitude for his years of service.

The citation said, in part, “the members of the Arkansas State Senate wish to join Senator Linda Chesterfield in expressing appreciation to Dr. Glenn B. Anderson for his service and contributions to our state’s deaf and hard of hearing population that is making possible brighter lives and futures for this segment of our population.”

Anderson, who joined UALR in 2008, previously was the director of training with the University of Arkansas Rehabilitation Research and Training Center for Persons who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. He also collaborated with the Interpreter Education Program on various projects for more than 25 years.

“The honor is very special and I am grateful to the Arkansas Senate, especially Sen. Linda Chesterfield for the recognition,” Anderson said.
