Geocache object highlights historic site on UALR campus
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is home to a new geocache attraction.
Geocaching involves participants tracking down hidden objects using GPS coordinates, and sometimes hints, that are posted online. People often then record their names in a log attached to the hidden object.
The new geocache object is described as, “a micro cache hidden in UALR campus’s Trail of Tears Park, a historic site memorializing the hardships of the southeastern tribes who traveled west through here along the Old Southwest Trail in the 1830s.”
For those searching for this particular object, the difficulty and terrain are rated at the easiest level.
The university is not affiliated with the geocache effort, although the latest object was placed on the campus with permission.
More details can be found online.
The newest geocache object joins others hidden on or near the UALR campus.
There’s also a current listing for a “Fountain of Youth” geocache object rated at the second-hardest difficulty level, as it’s described as being well hidden on the UALR campus, and a listing titled, “No UALR Parking.”
