UA Little Rock presents Earth Day festivities April 21
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Sustainability Committee invites faculty, staff, and students to celebrate Earth Day with its Environmental and Climate Literacy event Friday, April 21.
The day will begin with members of the Sustainability Committee collecting used electronics for recycling from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lot 15.
The event’s festivities are set to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Ottenheimer Library.
Participants can look forward to engaging in recycling games and yoga, as well purchasing items from vendors, including Crooked House Herbals, Pup Eats Dog Treats, A Lively Brew, and Little Brick Oven.
Along with external vendors, UA Little Rock organizations, such as the Garden Alliance Club, will be present with items for sale.
During lunch hours, food trucks will be located outside of the Diamond Cafe. Little Rock’s newest mobile market, Fresh 2 You, will be there to provide buyers with fresh fruits and vegetables.
A charging station for electronic devices, crafted by Dr. Andrew Wright, associate professor of systems engineering, and his students, will be available for use. Demonstrations, including how to compost, will also be presented throughout the event.
