UA Little Rock announces interim associate vice chancellor for academic affairs
Dr. Erin Finzer has been named the interim associate vice chancellor for academic affairs – continuous improvement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Finzer, who will begin her new position Sept. 1, will oversee all curricular processes in the Academic Affairs division, including assessment, program reviews, and accreditation.
In this new role, Finzer will head the UA Little Rock Department of Records and Registration and serve as a liaison to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education and other partners. In addition, she will design and implement a comprehensive, continuous improvement process for the campus that includes integrated planning and resource allocation.
“As the AVC for continuous improvement, Dr. Finzer will lead our efforts for successful reaffirmation of accreditation according to Higher Learning Commission standards,” Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Dr. Velmer Burton said. “Dr. Finzer’s guidance will be critical to the ongoing work involving our Quality Initiative Project and documenting student-learning outcomes through assessment.”
While serving as chair of the Department of World Languages and associate professor of Spanish, Finzer held the position of chair of the UA Little Rock Assessment Academy. For the past year, Finzer has served on the Higher Learning Commission Re-Accreditation Process for UA Little Rock as faculty co-chair.
