Counseling Services introduces new classes for fall semester

University of Arkansas at Little Rock Counseling Services is offering students free, weekly meditation classes and support groups throughout the fall semester.

Counselor Cai Carvalhaes will teach students how to meditate, relieve stress, and get their day started with Meditation Moment from 8:10 to 8:25 a.m. Monday through Friday in Donaghey Student Center Room 118.

Carvalhaes will also lead Mindfulness Group, which is scheduled to run for 12 sessions. During this course, students will engage in different activities that teach them how to connect with their minds and bodies and how to identify where they store stress physically. This class will be held from noon to 12:45 p.m. every Wednesday in Donaghey Student Center Room 201T.

The final session led by Carvalhaes will be a yoga class from 4 to 4:45 p.m. every Friday in Donaghey Student Center Room 201J.
Counseling Services intern Ashley Vickers will host the LGBTQ+ Support Group from 12:15 to 1 p.m. every Thursday in Donaghey Student Center Room 201T. Students identified in this community will meet to discuss concerns and get to know one another.
