Rent-A-Puppy returns to UA Little Rock Oct. 13

A UA Little Rock student plays with a puppy during the Chi Omega Gamma Zeta chapter Rent-A-Puppy event on Oct. 29, 2015.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock community will have the opportunity to play and socialize with rescue and shelter dogs of all ages from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, next to Ottenheimer Library.

The fourth annual Rent-A-Puppy event offers dog rescue and shelter organizations in central Arkansas some public exposure and gives their adoptable dogs an opportunity to receive affection and, potentially, new homes.

Attendees may rent a dog for 10 minutes for $5. Toys will be provided, and dogs will be on leashes for people to handle.

UA Little Rock’s Chi Omega Gamma Zeta chapter organizes the event, which raises funds for local animal shelters and Make-A-Wish Foundation, one of the focuses of the chapter’s philanthropy. The national nonprofit organization grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
