Counseling Services to offer students free yoga sessions

Meditation during the Restorative Yoga class at UALR's Donaghey Student Center on September 8, 2015.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Counseling Services will offer free, one-hour Mindful Yoga sessions for students, beginning Thursday, March 8.

Cai Carlvalhaes, a licensed yoga instructor, will lead the sessions. Classes will run from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Thursday until May 3. The classes will be taught in the Wesley Foundation building.

Throughout the eight-week course, students will learn how to relax by activating their seven chakras, or centers of energy believed to move inside of the body. Students who plan to attend the sessions will need to wear comfortable shoes but have the option to remove them while performing the stretches. Mats will be provided.
