Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity to honor Dr. Martin Luther King during awards breakfast, April 7
The Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation, in partnership with the Pi Lambda and Kappa Psi chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., will host the Dr. Martin Luther King Living Legacy awards breakfast on Saturday, April 7.
The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m. in Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Hall.
During the breakfast, brothers of the fraternity will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination, and honor leaders of the community who continue to live out his dream, including Governor Asa Hutchinson, Elder Maxine Allen, president of the Christian Ministerial Alliance, Matt Dillon, owner of Goodfellas Barber College, Saint Mark Baptist Church, and Delta Presents Outreach Foundation, Inc. Scholarships will also be awarded to high school male seniors.
Harry Johnson Sr., chief executive officer of the Martin Luther King Memorial Foundation, will serve as the program’s guest speaker.
Tickets are now available for $35 and can be purchased here. Proceeds of the event will support scholarships and community service projects in the Greater Little Rock area.
