UA Little Rock ranked among Top 50 universities for master’s program in health informatics
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has been ranked among the top 50 universities in the country for the best value education in a graduate degree in health informatics.
The educational resource website Value Colleges ranked UA Little Rock on its list of the Top 50 master’s degree programs in health informatics.
The Master of Science degree in bioinformatics at UA Little Rock is focused on preparing students to take on research in one of four key areas: drug design, integrated bioinformatics and genomics, computational biology, and biomedical informatics.
“While the healthcare sector has been one of the fastest-growing parts of the economy for quite some time, one field in particular-health informatics-is seeing tremendous growth,” said Carrie Sealey-Morris, lead editor at Value College.
“In the age of Big Data, the Affordable Care Act, and health insurance giants, record-keeping is at a premium, and healthcare practitioners who can handle computer technology effectively are in great demand,” Sealey-Morris said. “Whether it is a nurse earning a certificate to increase income or an administrative professional learning a new skill, a health informatics degree is a great opportunity to enhance credentials.”
The rankings were determined based on reputation, cost, and return on investment. Data was taken from U.S. News and World Report rankings, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) public data, and College Scorecard salary potential data from the U.S. Department of Education.
