Lee, Conque named vice chancellors at UA Little Rock

Two members of the Chancellor’s Cabinet at the University of Arkansas have new titles.

Joni Lee is now vice chancellor for university affairs, and Chasse Conque will serve as vice chancellor and director of athletics. These title changes better reflect their duties on the Cabinet and bring consistency to the group, Chancellor Andrew Rogerson said.

Lee has held numerous titles during her 30 years with the university. She started as a public policy researcher in the Center for Arkansas Initiatives, then worked as part of the university’s research and public service unit. She became coordinator of university advancement in 1990 where she developed and coordinated a legislative relations program for UA Little Rock.

In 1999, she was named associate vice chancellor of university advancement. In 2014, that title was changed to chief government relations officer. As vice chancellor, Lee will continue to work with government and federal agencies to elevate UA Little Rock’s position in the region.

Conque started with UA Little Rock in 2006 as manager of donor relations in the Office of Development. He followed this with four years in the Department of Athletics as director of development. Conque left in 2011 to become senior director of development for the UAMS College of Medicine before returning to UA Little Rock in 2015 as UA Little Rock’s athletics director to lead the university’s Division I athletics program.

Since then, Conque has spearheaded major rebranding of the athletic department, led aggressive basketball season-ticket campaigns, created the annual fundraising event SpectacUALR, and will oversee the launch of a new wrestling program. As vice chancellor, Conque will continue to promote Trojan pride on the campus and in the community.
