UA Little Rock’s Anderson Institute on Race and Ethnicity will continue its Plain Talk Lecture Series on Tuesday, March 12, at noon in Ottenheimer Library Room 202 with “Deschooling Dr. Bill: A Journey toward Health Equity with an Arkansas Epilogue” presented by Dr. William Ventres.

Dr. William Ventres,a family physician and medical anthropologist,has worked as a clinician and educator for more than 30 years in underserved settings in Arizona, Oregon, Venezuela, El Salvador, and South Africa.

Through his personal story of transformation, audience members will learn the process of “deschooling” or re-aligning one’s professional growth to address such issues as inequity, ignorance, and injustice.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
