Volunteer Caravan to Target 3 UD Sites

Students, faculty, staff, and their families from the UALR School of Social Work will volunteer 150 hours of service from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy.

Dr. John W. Miller Jr., assistant professor of social work, said 50 people have committed to provide three hours of volunteer work on Monday at three sites in the University District – the Little Rock Veterans Home, Oak Forest United Methodist Church, and Lions World Services for the Blind.

“We will gather at the University Plaza parking lot near Big Lots at 8:30 a.m. Monday and go caravan-style to the three sites,” Miller said.

This is the second year in a row that the School of Social Work volunteers have dedicated themselves to service to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.
