UALR to hold grand opening of police substation

For the first time, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock department of public safety is operating a new substation in the heart of campus.

UALR faculty, staff, and students are invited to join in celebrating the substation’s grand opening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Key chains, baked goodies, and tours will be offered in the new substation located in room 105 of Stabler Hall.

Crime Prevention Officer Jennifer Sibley said the location makes sense due to the number of classes held at Stabler Hall and its proximity to the theatre building where students sometimes have late-night rehearsals or unusual hours.

As a reminder, Sibley said that all students, regardless of location, can call 501.569.3400 to schedule an escort if needed.

The daytime, evening, and night patrols as well as the bike and foot patrols use the Stabler substation as their base.
