UALR maintains prestigious AACSB accreditation
AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business — has renewed accreditation of programs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s College of Business.
Earned by fewer than 5 percent of the world’s business programs, AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education. Today, there are fewer than 700 business schools in 45 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation.
“Accreditation affirms the core strength of our programs,” said Dr. Jane P. Wayland, the Stephen Harrow Smith Dean of the College of Business at UALR.
“Our excellent faculty, our metropolitan location in the capital city, and our strong commitment to corporate partnerships are just a few reasons we stand among the best of the best among the nation’s business schools.”
UALR’s College of Business offers students the opportunity to study in seven undergraduate disciplines or four post-baccalaureate certificate programs. Specialized graduate programs in accounting, information systems, and a master’s degree in business administration are also available.
The college has the distinction of being one of only a handful of business schools across the nation with two economic development outreach units housed within it, the Institute of Economic Advancement and the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International.
“Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to continuous improvements to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”
