UALR’s Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will present “Body Works,” the Spring Dance Concert, at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19 through Saturday, April 21, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 22, in University Theatre in the UALR Center for Performing Arts.
The UALR Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will present “Criminal Hearts,” by Pulitzer Prize nominee Jane Martin, and “Visiting Mr. Green,” by Jeff Baron, in alternating performances from Wednesday, Feb. 22, through Sunday, Feb. 26, in the University Theatre in the Center for the Performing Arts.

The UALR Theatre and Dance Department will hold dance scholarship interviews and dance technique placement auditions for the 2012-2013 academic year from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Center for the Performing Arts. All students must sign up for and schedule auditions and interviews before Feb. 3.

UALR Theatre Arts and Dance graduate Marisa Kirby is getting into the Christmas spirit big time this year. She is playing a variety of roles — including the Ghost of Christmas Future — in the Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s production of “A Christmas Carol, The Musical.”

The UALR Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will open its 2011-2012 season with the musical comedy, “Once Upon a Mattress,” Thursday, Oct. 6, to Sunday, Oct. 9, at University Theatre in the Center for the Performing Arts.

Carl Wick, retired technical director in the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, passed away suddenly Saturday, Jan. 22.
Wick was a part of the UALR community for more than 30 years. Despite retiring two years ago, he often returned to campus to coach students in theatre, dance, and music.
Memorial services to honor his life will be scheduled later in the spring.
At 6:30 p.m., the Arkansas Educational Television Network will re-air its new documentary “The Long Walk,” detailing the removal of the Choctaw tribes to Indian territory in what became Oklahoma. The Choctaw were first to walk what became the Trail of Tears. It first aired on Friday, Nov. 19.
