Trojan Tip-Off starts first week of classes

The new academic year will kick off with a new and exciting event, the Trojan Tip-Off and Pep Rally.

The festivities will begin at 4 p.m. on Aug. 17 in the Donaghey Student Center Fitness Center, part of Trojan Daze, a weeklong schedule to orient students to campus and build relationships.

Hosted by the Office of Campus Life, the UALR Athletic Department, and the Student Government Association, this event will have music, free food and T-shirts, and plenty of opportunities to meet fellow students, faculty, and staff.

Starting at 4 p.m., attendees may eat and socialize at the Student Organization Fair. A pep rally will be held during the event, and everyone is encouraged to wear their Trojan gear to help celebrate the upcoming academic year. The night will end with a “Sync or Sink” competition.

Sync or Sink is a lip sync battle with three-to-eight person teams performing one-minute routines. Winners will be decided by a panel of judges.
