UA Little Rock to Hold Jazz Ensemble Performance Oct. 18

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Jazz Ensemble will hold its fall concert Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building on the UA Little Rock campus.

The Jazz Ensemble, led by Dr. Michael Underwood, advanced instructor of music, will perform songs featuring students from the vocal department.

The concert will include “Night and Day” by Cole Porter featuring UA Little Rock student Brent Foster on vocals as well as “Sway” by Pablo Ruiz featuring student Hannah Blacklaw on vocals.

The Jazz Ensemble will also perform “On Green Dolphin Street” by Bronislaw Kaper, “Aim High” by Fred Sturm, and “Nica’s Dream” by Horace Silver, with all three selections featuring members of the band.
