The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host the first ConTechInnovate Conference Oct. 5-6. The inaugural conference is focused on advancing the construction industry through emerging technologies.

The ConTechInnovate conference offers a platform for learning and exploring the latest trends and technologies shaping the construction industry, helping people stay ahead of the curve with insights on topics including cybersecurity, safety and security, computers and software, enterprise resource planning systems, and emerging innovative technologies.

The conference will begin with a welcome reception at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, followed by the conference from 8:45 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6.

“An advantage of a STEM college is the potential to collaborate across different units. Industry requires graduates that are able to contribute in different areas,” said Dr. Lawrence Whitman, dean of the Donaghey College of STEM at UA Little Rock. “One area that is vital to our region is technology in construction. The use of technology enables better construction. The DCSTEM Advisory Board has worked together to provide an innovative conference to explore this topic in the region. The speakers will include industry leaders and professors exploring research and how to successfully integrate technology and construction.”

The conference will bring together experts, industry professionals, students, and faculty from the mid-south region with the goal of providing a premiere platform for practitioners, companies, and academics to share valuable insights, research, and foster collaborations.

“The industry advisory board of the college has worked towards the inaugural ConTechInnovate event,” said Jerry Horani, chief information technology office at VCC Construction. “The event will empower conference attendees with actionable insights and create a dynamic platform that brings together a diverse array of construction technology companies, while also delving into pivotal topics like cybersecurity and innovation. I invite all to come and be a part of the energy of our region and the intersection of construction and technology at ConTechInnovate.”

Individuals may register for the conference for $99. Group discounts and sponsorships are available. All proceeds will be used to provide scholarships for construction management and engineering students at UA Little Rock.
