What is a Peer Coach?
AARO Peer Coaches: The Student Peer Coach serves as an academic resource for students, providing guidance, support, and assistance to help them navigate college life successfully. They work directly with students to establish academic goals and identify potential barriers while fostering a supportive environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
Peer Coaching Topics:
- Adjust to UA Little Rock academic expectations (from H.S. or another college)
- Develop positive class engagement
- Interact and build relationships with faculty/instructors
- Note-taking skills
- Study-skills
- Test-taking skills
- Time management skills

- Select the course (optional) and the primary reason for coaching. Students can add more details on the next page.

Peer Coaches are located in Student Services Center 3rd floor, SSC 321G.
Fall 2024 Peer Coaching ends on Friday, November 22, 2024. Peer Coaching is not offered over Thanksgiving Break or during Finals.
Spring 2025 Peer Coaching will start the second week of classes on January, Monday 27, 2025. Peer Coaching is not available during Spring Break. Peer Coaching ends on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Meet the Peer Coaches
Peer Coach: Oseghale Abhulimen
Oseghale Abhulimen is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Clinical Biology at the College of Arts and Sciences, with the goal of advancing to a career in internal medicine. Beyond his studies, Oseghale is actively involved in volunteer work through his church and is always seeking opportunities for personal and professional development. He embraces the philosophy that “to find your resolve is to accept failure,” reflecting his belief in the importance of resilience and perseverance on the path to excellence.
Peer Coach: Bryley Bowman
Bryley Bowman is a junior majoring in General Biology at the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. She aspires to attend medical school at UAMS and become a doctor. Bryley is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys swimming, hiking, camping, and canoeing in her free time.
Peer Coach: Faith Childers
Faith Childers is a sophomore majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice at the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education. Her career ambition is to become a juvenile probation officer, where she aims to assist young individuals in discovering their passions and overcoming life’s challenges. Faith is inspired by the quote, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Peer Coach: John Luke Lewis
Luke Lewis is a student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy within the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education. He is also enrolled in the Early-Admittance Law Program, with aspirations to gain admission to Bowen Law School and pursue a career in law. Luke is actively involved in UALR’s Ethics Bowl team, where he enjoys competing against other schools each fall.
Peer Coach: Anna Synco
Dani Synco is a sophomore majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the College of Business, Health, and Human Services. She aspires to become a Speech Pathologist, specializing in working with children and adolescents. In her free time, Dani enjoys spending time with friends and family. Her top study tip is to create a study plan so that deadlines will not be forgotten or missed.
