Dr.  Thomas Colby received his Ph.D in Geosciences from Boise State University.  He is a visiting professor at UA Little Rock in the Department of Earth Sciences.  Dr. Colby’s research interests focus on using a variety of techniques to investigate and understand the timing, structure, and evolution of collisional mountain building events.

In this lecture, Dr. Colby explains how the Earth’s history is written in the rocks and how geologists are just learning how to understand the language.
