How did you get started in the Career Services profession?
Having over eight years of experience in administration, recruitment, and onboarding before coming to UA Little Rock for my master’s in MBA – human resources, I knew career services was the best place to work as it aligns with my career goals. I was happy to learn there was an opening because it was an opportunity I had long been waiting for.
Describe a “typical workday” in Career Services.
My typical weekday involves aiding students with Handshake, resume development, answering questions at the front desk, and reviewing students’ resumes.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I like to listen to inspirational speakers, relax, or watch a movie while having popcorn and drinking lemonade.
What is the most interesting place you have ever visited?
Being an international student, I haven’t had the chance or the leisure to travel to any intriguing destinations, but I’ve heard that New York is an amazing city, so I’m looking forward to going there sometime.
What do you like best about living in Central Arkansas?
Its people are welcoming and friendly. Also, Central Arkansas has a serene environment that reminds me of my home. Arkansas is the only state I have lived in since I came to the U.S., and It has been a wonderful experience. I consider Arkansas to be my American home.
